In Greek Mythology, Artemis is the goddess of the hunt, the wilderness, and wild animals. The challenge in using her image here is that her bow is missing, so I had to find just the right creature to perch on her hand. I was delighted to find a wonderful praying mantis. I also felt called to put the image of our wonderous Earth in her line of sight, as if Artemis and the praying mantis are both praying for her protection and that of all creatures of the earth.
